Stand up paddle boarding has been characterized as the fastest growing water sport in the U.S. Paddle boarding is so appealing because it’s simple to learn and gives the paddler a fantastic work-out. I started paddle boarding as a way of changing up my work-out routine when vacationing beachside.

My two athletic teenagers have also taken an interest in paddle boarding, so I purchased inflatable longboards for the family. They’re easy to transport and set-up. In addition to working out together, we’ve also gone on recreational tours. These tours take paddle boarders out to view pristine waters and incredible underwater ecosystems.

Stand-Up Paddle Surfing

Stand-up paddle surfing (SUP) is the latest trend sport. Like traditional surfing, SUP started in Hawaii. The sport is an ancient form of surfing and has made a comeback with surfing instructors as a way to manage large groups of students. Enthusiasts love the core work-out you get with SUP. In addition, avid surfers claim SUP gives them the ability to catch more waves.

A longboard measuring 9 to 12 feet long is preferable for the sport. Though most boards are made of glass-reinforced plastic with a foam core, inflatable longboards are also popular. An inflatable longboard is easier to transport and store without compromising the sport when it’s fully inflated in the water. Next time you’re on a beach vacation, be sure to give paddle surfing a try!

If you are looking for the most versatile aquatic conveyance, look no further than inflatable longboards. Aquatic conveyance probably sounds convoluted, but there is no appropriate term to describe all these amazing vessels can do. Longboards afford you the opportunity to paddle standing up or sitting down, allowing you to row for fitness or go for a leisurely outing.

Not only can you power the longboard while seated or standing, it also has ample cargo room, making it ideal for daylong excursions. Weighing in at less than 50 pounds, inflatable longboards can be taken on camping and outdoor adventures with ease. And while you may assume that these vessels are flimsy, their hull is so strong you can hit it with a hammer.

What is Paddleboarding?

Although paddleboarding has been around for roughly a century, few people are familiar with this water sport. You have undoubtedly seen a person paddleboarding in one form or another before—and perhaps you have even done it yourself. The most basic form of paddleboarding entails lying facedown on a surfboard or similar conveyance and propelling yourself with a swimming motion.

A more advanced variation of paddleboarding requires the person to standup while paddling and is much more rigorous. Up until recently, no watercraft had been designed that allowed for both types of paddleboarding. With the Sea Eagle paddle board, however, seafarers have the ability to paddle from either the prone position or while standing.  If you take a more relaxed approach to your paddleboarding, you can equip your Sea Eagle with a comfortable padded seat.  Paddle boards have something to offer everyone!

New Watercraft Innovations

In some circles, a longboard is simply an elongated skateboard; for others, it is a means of conveyance on the water. Much akin to the paddleboard, a longboard features a long, slender body and is designed for only one person. While it can be perilous to transport typical longboards to remote bodies of water, there are now inflatable longboards that make this process a breeze.

The Sea Eagle inflatable longboard is the first model that allows the user the freedom to paddle standing up or sitting down. This increases the pragmatic qualities of the craft and allows for unparalleled mobility. While you may assume that an inflatable craft will be flimsy and prone to damage, the hull of the Sea Eagle model is reinforced and can stand up to virtually anything you can throw at it.
